Our introductory L4Re workshop is becoming a regular event, as we have set up a new date for 2026. Get registered right now for the third edition of “Getting Started with L4Re within 3 Days – Design and deploy secure system architectures for your product with L4Re” from 14 to 16 April 2026!
Kernkonzept invites interested software engineers to learn how to use the microkernel-based L4Re Operating System Framework. We welcome you in our headquarters in Dresden, the so-called capital of operating systems and heart of “Silicon Saxony”.
In a 3-day program, you will get an introduction to L4Re and do your first steps, guided by one of our highly skilled Senior Software Engineers, who have been deeply involved in L4Re development for decades.
Our workshop is perfect to get a first insight into this open-source technology. You don’t need to be an experienced software engineer, but for a good learning experience, you should have a basic understanding of how software and operating systems work.
We tailored our introductory workshop “Getting Started with L4Re” to help you get an easy start, familiarize yourself with this open-source software, and to give you hands-on experience:
- Learn how the microkernel principle can meet your security needs
- Understand how the architecture and security mechanisms of L4Re work
- Configure, build, and install L4Re on different platforms
- Get acquainted with the most important tools, services, and libraries in the L4Re ecosystem
- Learn how to use virtualization in L4Re
- Start to contribute to the L4Re community – and launch your own project in the end!
In 3 days, you learn to work independently with L4Re, even if you had little to no prior knowledge about microkernel architecture. Our workshop provides a mix of interactive, lecture-style sessions and hands-on practical exercises, where you can apply your new knowledge. All you need is your laptop – we prepare the necessary hardware and the environment needed.
Register now and secure one of the last remaining seats for 14-16 April 2026!
