Kernkonzept at OUTPUT DD_NEU

Kernkonzept at OUTPUT DD: L4Re comes home!

Computer science is far from boring – this is proven every year at OUTPUT DD. At one of the biggest events at TU Dresden’s Faculty for Computer Science, students and employees present their results from research and teaching to the public.

Visitors are attracted with installations and exhibitions, lectures, and presentations. There is a coding contest and even a raffle! At OUTPUT Contact in the afternoon, you also get to talk with local companies about their research acticities and job opportunities. One of these companies is Kernkonzept: On June 29 you can find us at our booth to chat and learn about our work with operating systems.

Our field-proven secure open-source technology L4Re that is running in secure laptops and e-cars was developed 25 years ago by our founders Dr. Michael Hohmuth, Dr. Adam Lackorzynski and Alex Warg, right here at TU Dresden. As many of our colleagues are alumni of TU Dresden as well, OUTPUT DD always feels a bit like coming home.

Our CTO Adam Lackorzynski is still closely connected to research at the TU Dresden. For the Chair of Operating Systems he will present the research project secureAR, where Kernkonzept together with Fraunhofer Institute, Airbus, Siemens, and other companies investigates innovative services in industrial production.

Our tasks are the development of a cloud-based service platform and an augmented reality assistance system. To ensure security for the processed data in the software architecture of the assistance system, our secure open-source L4Re Operating System Framework provides various virtual machines for functions like object recognition and communication with the cloud.

The secureAR software and the AR device itself are really cool to watch and you can even try it out for yourself!

OUTPUT DD is an open event. You don’t need to register or buy expensive tickets for OUTPUT DD – just mark the date in your calendar and come over on June 29. We are looking forward to a fun day at the Faculty for Computer Sciences on Nöthnitzer Straße.
